Director, General Director and Artistic Director of the Helikon Opera Theatre
Graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (the workshop of the professor G. Ansimov). In 1990 he has founded Moscow Musical theatre Helikon-Opera.
Dmitry Bertman staged about 120 productions in Moscow in "Helikon-Opera", and in other cities of Russia and abroad: in St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg, Wexford (Ireland), Düsseldorf, Mannheim (Germany), Vienna (Austria), Paris, Montpellier, Strasbourg, Evian, Dijon (France), Toronto (Canada), Rome, Ravenna (Italy), Stockholm, Umeå, Malmö (Sweden), Helsinki (Finland), Santander, Merida, Pere- lada (Spain), Istanbul (Turkey), Tallinn (Estonia), Riga (Latvia) and in many other cities.
Dmitry Bertman was repeatedly awarded with "The Golden Mask" theatre award, "Nail of the season", K.Stanislavsky’s International award, the Moscow Government award. Since 2003 Professor Dmitry Bertman is a head of the Department of Directing and Acting of Musical Theatre at GITIS.
